There are some pieces I make because I like the look of them.
And then there are others that come from somewhere a little deeper.

This clock was one of those.

It came out of a period where I had to slow things down a bit. Take stock. Reset.
Like most people, I’ve had times where things feel a bit overwhelming, and you have to find a way to steady yourself and keep moving forward.

I didn’t sit down and plan this design in a traditional sense. It evolved as I worked — and looking back, I can see that the simplicity of it says more than anything I could have added.

There are no numbers. No distractions. Just form, balance, and quiet movement.

For me, that’s what inner strength often looks like. It’s not loud. It’s not always visible. But it’s there — steady, constant, doing its job in the background even when things feel uncertain.

The materials played their part too. Natural wood, with all its imperfections and character, felt right for this piece. No two pieces are ever the same, just like no two people or experiences are the same.

That individuality is something I’ve always tried to keep at the heart of what I make.

When I finished the clock and stepped back, it felt different to some of my other work. Not better or worse — just more personal. Like it carried a bit of that journey within it.

And I suppose that’s what I hope people might connect with when they see it.

Not just a clock, but a quiet reminder.

To slow down when you need to.
To find your balance again.
And to remember that strength doesn’t always have to be seen to be there.
