Whilst creating my Handmade Pretty Things, I cut everything out by hand so that I can keep waste to an absolute minimum!  

I hate to waste anything, so any leftover felt that is possibly useful goes into my ‘bits and pieces’ drawer.  It is getting quite full!

However I do end up with some quite tiny pieces of felt. 

I am always looking for ways to use up all these little pieces of felt that I am accumulating. 

Something I have decided to try to do is to incorporate some of these smaller pieces of felt in my embroidery, especially my hand stitched embroidered mice.

Firstly I looked at tulips for spring, the shapes and the colours
                     

 I then hand cut tulips and stitched them onto my felt mouse base with the tiniest of stitches, finally adding embroidery for the stems and leaves.  I am so happy with the results.
