Hi there!
Welcome to my first ever blog on the British Craft House.

I thought I’d start on a high. And well, also because I never win anything and for once I did win something. Of course I assumed it was a spoof.
To fill you in…I entered a competition run by Cooksongold – who supply many, if not most, of us jewellers with metal and lots of delightful tools. Every month they announce a theme and folk send in a pic of their jewellery that fits the theme. Its worth checking it out. I’ve seen some incredible creations.
Last month the theme was geeky creations. Well, we all have an inner geek. Mine emerged when I visited CERN (European Organisation for Nuclear Research) in Geneva earlier in the year. Home of the discovery of the Higgs Bosun particle amongst other clever stuff. Its great fun and honestly worth a visit. It’s free too.
After my trip I got thinking about particles and molecules I can’t claim a great level of understanding but the shapes and what they do just appeals to me.
So I’ve been creating silver molecules set with gemstones to give them a bit of added glam. My first was an adrenaline molecule set with a Swiss blue topaz as a nod to my trip to Geneva and my inner geek. Well the judges liked it and the rest is history. The winning molecule is pictured above, but there is also serotonin, caffeine and dopamine – if you need your very own molecule, then you know where to find me!
